Early start. Head torch on, hat on, gloves on. The River Thames at 6am on a misty snow covered February morning can be a little eerie, in fact so can Richmond Park at 6.30am. 8M is a decent start to the day, even if it is just steady. Right foot niggling a little bit, but still no major feedback afterwards (think the HOT shower is working afterwards, keeping the legs supple).
Slightly modified route in the evening. No Thames path, straight into the Park, no head torch but took the Yaks Tracks Pro expecting ice, but temperature was actually rather pleasant and certainly a few degrees above freezing. The Yaks ended up stuffed down my tights which was surprisingly less uncomfortable than one might imagine. Richmond Park at 7/8 o'clock at night is quite a sight, particularly when you forget your head torch ... just ambient City light giving a dull glow, which interestingly makes the odd Stag hard to avoid (think it thinks the same).
Starting to feel quite strong, amazing how just a couple of weeks training can get you into some decent shape ... just need to keep free of any silly injuries and try to sharpen up a bit with tomorrow's session
