8.5M pm - High Street Ken to the Wharf
6M pm - Wharf to Hyde Park Corner
Odd morning. Took the "Upminster train" from Kew, with the plan to get off at Westminster for a canter along the North Bank. London Underground had other ideas. After 15 minutes stationary about 15 yards from Earls Court I was beginning to think that running from Kew would have been a better bet. Thinking that this situation couldn't any worse was premature. "Odd" I thought, leaving Earls Course, as we did, in parallel with another "Tower Hill" bound train on an adjacent platform. Two trains heading for the same destination on adjacent tracks, at the same speed, and headed towards only 1 track going to "Tower Hill". "Odd I thought"
A few seconds later "erm, guys I'm really sorry, but the line controller has advised that this train will now be diverting to High Street Kensington". Clearly there was no one on the train that actually wanted to be in High St Ken so the whole train emptied off to the other platform. Looking on the positive side though, this did mean more miles. So rather than an easy 5 to start the day, this morning turned into an easyish 8.
PM - had planned to run the full works from Wharf to Kew. But by the time I got to Hyde Park Corner, the left knee was niggling a little. Not necessarily more than previously, but didn't want to take a chance. I jumped on the Piccadilly at Hyde Park Corner. 14 aint too bad, but it does make it a little harder to hit the tonne this week.
